Ice Gator

Ice Gator is the fictional alligator mascot of Disney's Blizzard Beach water park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, in the United States. According to Disney legend, Florida's first ski resort was melting, and the operators were preparing to cut their losses and walk away. They were interrupted however, by an echoing "YAHHOOO!!!" coming from the mountain of melting snow. They looked up to see an alligator wearing a purple scarf and a purple and pink (Or gold and purple depending on the image) ski hat careening down the mountain at top speed. Ice Gator then landed in a pool of melted snow at the base of the mountain with a thunderous splash. The ski resort operators suddenly saw the park's potential, and the mountain of snow became Blizzard Beach, "the most slushy, slippery, exhilarating water park anywhere!"

Famous quotes containing the word ice:

Every incident connected with the breaking up of the rivers and ponds and the settling of the weather is particularly interesting to us who live in a climate of so great extremes. When the warmer days come, they who dwell near the river hear the ice crack at night with a startling whoop as loud as artillery, as if its icy fetters were rent from end to end, and within a few days see it rapidly going out. So the alligator comes out of the mud with quakings of the earth.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
