Laura Branigan and John Farnham performed a duet to the song on live television for the 1986 Logie Awards, an Australian awards show.

In 1997, this song was also covered by slain South African reggae star Lucky Dube on his Taxman album. It featured strong South African reggae drum beats by ace drummer Mnca Mtshali. Filipina singer Regine Velasquez covered the song in her 1997 album Retro, a collection of remakes.
