I Know My Love

"I Know My Love" is a traditional Irish song, extant since at least 1922. It is best known as a single by Irish folk band The Chieftains, released in 1999, taken from their widely acclaimed album Tears of Stone.

It features guest artists The Corrs and had been recorded in 1997, while The Corrs were working on their second album Talk on Corners. After completing the session, The Corrs asked The Chieftains to reciprocate and guest on their album too. The end result of this collaboration was a cover of the Jimi Hendrix song "Little Wing".

The Corrs were at the height of their popularity at the time of the release of this single, which is probably why this track was chosen as a single.

The track was later included on The Corrs' 2006 compilation album Dreams: The Ultimate Corrs Collection.

James Yorkston and the Athletes also recorded a version of this song on the album Moving Up Country.

Liz Madden recorded a new version on her 2010 album My Irish Home.

Colin Wilkie and Shirley Hart recorded a version on their 1966 album Songs of Mother Ireland

Famous quotes containing the word love:

The deliberate consciousness of America so fair and smooth-spoken, and the under-consciousness so devilish. Destroy! destroy! destroy! hums the under-consciousness. Love and produce! Love and produce! cackles the upper-consciousness.
