Managerial Career
In 2005, Hwang was appointed as assistant coach of Chunnam Dragons and started his coaching career.
On December 4, 2007, he signed a three-year contract with Busan I'Park and became manager of Busan. He didn't make impressive impact during that three years, so declined contract extension offer from club on November 5, 2010.
On November 9, 2010, he returned to his former team Pohang Steelers as manager. In first coaching year at the Steelers, he guided the team to a second place in the regular season.
