Hurlingham and Chelsea Secondary School

Hurlingham And Chelsea Secondary School

Hurlingham and Chelsea School is a mixed community secondary school, located in the south of Fulham in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. In 2004 the school went into special measures, but with the arrival of a new headteacher, Dr. Phil Cross, the school quickly came out of special measures, and in 2005 Ofsted reported that the school was rapidly improving. In October 2006 the Local Authority proposed to close the school, but the school campaigned against this, and before adjudication, the council withdrew the proposal. In 2009, the school was given appropriations to expand and improve its facilities and to consider adding a sixth form program.

Hurlingham and Chelsea school was adjudged 'good with outstanding features' by Ofsted in January 2008 and in June 2011Ofsted judged that the quality of education provided was outstanding.
