Humans in The Saga of Seven Suns - Roamers

Roamers

  • Eldon Clarin - An engineer who helped design the Roamer facility Hurricane Depot as well as an improved ekti reactor and was aboard Berndt Okiah's skymine at Erphano monitoring the progress of the reactor installed in the facility when the skymine was destroyed by the hydrogues.
  • Roberto Clarin - The manager of Hurricane Depot at the time of its seizure and destruction by the EDF.
  • Del Kellum - The owner of the Roamer shipyards located in the rings of Osquivel, which when destroyed he moved to a skymine around Golgen, the first world to be made safe from hydrogues by the wentals.
  • Zhett Kellum - The beautiful dark haired daughter of Del Kellum, and is on the receiving end of many young men's admirations, including Patrick Fitzpatrick III and Nikko Chan Tylar.
  • Berndt Okiah - One of Jhy Okiah's numerous grandchildren. He was a dedicated Roamer skyminer who managed facilities at Glyx and then Erphano. Berndt was mostly considered to stubborn and arrogant by his fellow Roamers, as he was given "too many chances" and did not always listen to advice. However, during his brief role, he seems to truly want to make up for his past mistakes and make sure he runs his own skymine properly. This resolution comes to late, however, when he was killed in a Hydrogue attack.
  • Kotto Okiah - Jhy Okiah's son and an engineer of remarkble skill creative skill, even by Roamer standards. Kotto notably managed to set up colonies in the extreme environments of Isperos and Jonah 12. In addition to this, Kotto implemented several improvements for Roamer skymines (all of which were unfortunately destroyed by Hydrogues), and was one of the Roamers who helped give the Therons planetary aid after an intense Hydrogue attack. He also designed the "Doorbell", an effective sonic-based weapon, for use against the Hydrogues. This weapon came about from him examining the intact remains of a Hydrogue 'warglobe', by means of discovering the sound frequency at which the door of the 'warglobe' is opened. He is later responsible for the design and implementation of weaponry onto existing Roamer spacecraft as a new defensive fleet for the Confederation.
  • Jhy Okiah - The former speaker of the Roamer clans. She was remarkably old, having married four times and outlived each of her husbands each time, yet retained much of her enthusiasm whilst gaining much wisdom. Due to her numerous marriages, she had many children (Kotto Okiah being one of them) and a ridiculous amount of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, so many that she opted to stop keeping track of them all. Because she spent so much time either in space or in Rendezvous, Jhy's frail body had become adjusted to a lack of gravity, causing her great difficulty even on a planet with light gravity in comparison to Earth's. After the destruction of Rendezvous by the EDF, Jhy Okiah died on the Roamer outpost of Jonah 12, shortly before the complex was annihilated by Klikiss robots.
  • Cesca Peroni - The only child of the Roamer trader Denn Peroni and spent the early part of her life moving from Roamer outpost to Roamer outpost with her father.
  • Denn Peroni - A Roamer trader and the father of Cesca Peroni. Denn Peroni was held by Hansa at the EDF base on Mars around the time that Basil Wenceslas planned to assassinate King Peter and Queen Estarra so that he, and all Roamers, could be used as scapegoats. However, with the premature discovery of the bomb planted by Pellidor, King Peter managed to quietly release Denn Peroni. The trader was enlisted by his daughter to lead a convoy of Roamer ships to Theroc after the attack on the planet by the hydrogues, so that the Roamers could aid in the rejuvenation of the stricken world. Peroni was forced to abandon the effort along with the rest of the Roamers that had travelled to Theroc when the Terran Hanseatic League proclaimed that all Roamer were outlaws. From Theroc Denn Peroni travelled to the secure facility at Osquivel where he and other Roamers agreed to covertly sell their products to beleaguered Hansa colonies and the Ildiran Empire. Denn helped set up a makeshift hub market at Yreka, and later assisted Kotto Okiah in the manufacture of his anti-hydrogue 'Doorbell' weaponry and also deployed the weapons against the hydrogues at Earth. Denn is later assigned as the Official liaison between the Roamers and the new Confederation by King Peter, and has the Title of Speaker passed to him by his Wental imbued daughter, now unable to fulfill her duties.
  • Bram Tamblyn - The eldest of five Tamblyn brothers and was the head of the Tamblyn clan and of the water mines of Plumas. He had three children - Ross, Jess and Tasia - and was made a widower after his wife Karla died. Due to his and Ross Tamblyn's similarly stubborn attitudes, Bram disowned his eldest son but was deeply hurt when he heard of Ross' death at the hands of the hydrogues. Bram died on Plumas soon after Ross' own death.
  • Jess Tamblyn -
  • Ross Tamblyn - The son of Bram Tamblyn and Karla Baker but was disowned by his father after a heated argument, Bram Tamblyn agreeing to give his eldest son his inheritance early which Ross invested in the Blue Sky Mine. Although Bram Tamblyn refused to speak with Ross, his brother - Jess Tamblyn - was a frequent visitor to the Blue Sky Mine at Golgen and often brought presents from himself and their sister Tasia. Ross was betrothed to Francesca Peroni who had agreed to marry the black sheep of the Tamblyn family if he managed to make a profit on his skymine within five years. During the betrothal Ross made a present of a black skypearl necklace for Cesca Peroni. Ross Tamblyn died before he managed to make a profit from Blue Sky Mine when the skymine was attack by hydrogues. His outward appearance was later adopted by the hydrogues whenever they took on a humanoid form (albeit sans emotions), as he was one of their first victims.
  • Tasia Tamblyn - The youngest child and only daughter of Bram and Karla Tamblyn
  • Crim Tylar - Worked with his wife Marla Chan at the Chan Greenhouses, a small Roamer outpost which was later destroyed by an EDF battlegroup commanded by Admiral Lev Stromo. Both Crim Tylar and Marla Chan were killed on the outpost, but their son, Nikko Chan Tylar, managed to escape.
  • Nikko Chan Tylar - Enjoys wandering from system to system unlike his parents Marla Chan and Crim Tylar. He helped deliver wentals in his ship, Aquarius.
