Hu Card

A HuCard (known as a TurboChip in the United States) is a memory card developed by Hudson Soft for the NEC PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16 in the US) and SuperGrafx video game consoles.

The size of a credit card, a HuCard contains an integrated circuit (IC) that is placed close to the connectors and protected by a thin plastic shield. Compared to the more traditional cartridges used by almost every other game console of the time, the HuCard is relatively small and compact.

The HuCard can be compared with the BeeCard, also a memory card developed by Hudson Soft which was used with MSX computers. The BeeCard is slightly thinner and contains 32 connectors where the HuCard has 38. Sega had previously released its own short-lived memory card format, the Sega Card (also known as "My Card").

Famous quotes containing the word card:

In the game of “Whist for two,” usually called “Correspondence,” the lady plays what card she likes: the gentleman simply follows suit. If she leads with “Queen of Diamonds,” however, he may, if he likes, offer the “Ace of Hearts”: and, if she plays “Queen of Hearts,” and he happens to have no Heart left, he usually plays “Knave of Clubs.”
