HRG Engineering Company - The Cars Today

The Cars Today

Of the 241 cars made, it is estimated that 225 survive. Many of the cars are still in active use, with a few in active competition.

Some are competing in classic trials, others compete in VSCC races with success.

The cars are commonly called "Hurgs" by their owners, and have an owners organisation in the HRG Association.

Famous quotes containing the words cars today, cars and/or today:

I think that cars today are almost the exact equivalent of the great Gothic cathedrals: I mean the supreme creation of an era, conceived with passion by unknown artists, and consumed in image if not in usage by a whole population which appropriates them as a purely magical object.
    Roland Barthes (1915–1980)

When, at rare intervals, some thought visits one, as perchance he is walking on a railroad, then, indeed, the cars go by without his hearing them. But soon, by some inexorable law, our life goes by and the cars return.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

If today there is a proper American “sphere of influence” it is this fragile sphere called earth upon which all men live and share a common fate—a sphere where our influence must be for peace and justice.
    Hubert H. Humphrey (1911–1978)
