Houston Astros Seasons
This is a list of seasons completed by the Houston Astros, originally known as the Houston Colt .45s, professional baseball franchise.
The Astros have completed fifty-one seasons in Major League Baseball, qualifying for the postseason in nine of these and reaching one World Series in 2005. At the beginning of their history, the team struggled and took until 1972 to win more games than it lost. In 1980 the Astros made their first postseason appearance, but took until 1996 to achieve some consistency.
Between 1996 and 2005 the Astros had a period of success with only one losing season and six postseason appearances. However, since 2006 the franchise has experienced a steady decline to consecutive 100-loss seasons in 2011 and 2012, with the worst MLB record since the 2004 Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012.
