Home Truths (Doctor Who Audio) - Continuity

Continuity

  • This play takes place between episodes 7 and 8 of The Daleks' Master Plan, the only serial to feature Sara. It has been previously stated in the novelization that there was a gap of several months around this time in which she travelled with the Doctor and Steven.
  • Before this audio, the only instance of Sara being revisited was a short story entitled The Little Drummer Boy by Eddie Robson from the Big Finish book Short Trips: Companions. The boy on Mars that is mentioned in Home Truths is a direct reference to this short story.
  • Sara and Robert's story continues in The Drowned World.
  • The flashback stories occur in the opposite order of the framing stories.
  • The old man caught in the workings of a giant clock that Sara mentions is explored in the last story of this trilogy, The Guardian of the Solar System.

Famous quotes containing the word continuity:

Every society consists of men in the process of developing from children into parents. To assure continuity of tradition, society must early prepare for parenthood in its children; and it must take care of the unavoidable remnants of infantility in its adults. This is a large order, especially since a society needs many beings who can follow, a few who can lead, and some who can do both, alternately or in different areas of life.
    Erik H. Erikson (1904–1994)

Continuous eloquence wearies.... Grandeur must be abandoned to be appreciated. Continuity in everything is unpleasant. Cold is agreeable, that we may get warm.
    Blaise Pascal (1623–1662)

There is never a beginning, there is never an end, to the inexplicable continuity of this web of God, but always circular power returning into itself.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
