Box Office
The object of the Box Office round was to answer 5 questions correctly. Before each question, host Newton gave the contestant two category choices. The first four correct answers were worth $500 each; the fifth won the Box Office.
At any time, a contestant could quit and take what they had won up to that point. However, an incorrect answer lost whatever winnings they had earned; either way, if a contestant did not win the Box Office, they played another game and search for another Box Office card.
When a contestant won the Box Office, he/she retired from the show, and a new contestant took his/her place for a new search for the Box Office card and the Box Office again started fresh at $10,000.

Famous quotes containing the words box and/or office:
“The quality of American life is an insult to the possibilities of human growth ... the pollution of American space, with gadgetry and cars and TV and box architecture, brutalizes the senses, making gray neurotics of most of us, and perverse spiritual athletes and strident self-transcenders of the best of us.”
—Susan Sontag (b. 1933)
“Notwithstanding the unaccountable apathy with which of late years the Indians have been sometimes abandoned to their enemies, it is not to be doubted that it is the good pleasure and the understanding of all humane persons in the Republic, of the men and the matrons sitting in the thriving independent families all over the land, that they shall be duly cared for; that they shall taste justice and love from all to whom we have delegated the office of dealing with them.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
