  • Men's soccer is a newly sponsored sport; full member Seattle and new full members Cal State-Bakersfield, Grand Canyon, and UMKC already compete in men's soccer, and future members Chicago State and Utah Valley are adding the sport for competition in the 2014 season and Texas-Pan American for 2015. Air Force, Houston Baptist, San Jose State, and UNLV will also compete in soccer as WAC affiliate members, transferring along with Seattle from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
  • In women's swimming and diving, full members New Mexico State and Seattle remain, with Cal State Bakersfield moving from affiliate to full member and Grand Canyon added as a full member; affiliate members North Dakota, Northern Arizona, and Northern Colorado also remain, so there will be seven schools to compete, and the sport will continue to be sponsored by the WAC.
  • Men's swimming and diving is a newly sponsored sport; full member schools Cal State Bakersfield, Grand Canyon, and Seattle will be joined by affiliate members Air Force, UNLV, North Dakota, and Wyoming, giving the WAC seven swimming and diving members for both men and women.

    Come, my Celia, let us prove
    While we may the sports of love;
    Time will not be ours forever,
    He at length our good will sever.
    Ben Jonson (1572–1637)

    Even from their infancy we frame them to the sports of love: their instruction, behaviour, attire, grace, learning and all their words aimeth only at love, respects only affection. Their nurses and their keepers imprint no other thing in them.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

    It is usual for a Man who loves Country Sports to preserve the Game in his own Grounds, and divert himself upon those that belong to his Neighbour.
    Joseph Addison (1672–1719)
