Famous quotes containing the words public, safety and/or health:

The private citizen, beset by partisan appeals for the loan of his Public Opinion, will soon see, perhaps, that these appeals are not a compliment to his intelligence, but an imposition on his good nature and an insult to his sense of evidence.
    Walter Lippmann (1889–1974)

And that destroying the life or safety of other people, through teasing, bullying, hitting or otherwise, “putting them down,” is as destructive to themselves as to their victims.
    Lewis P. Lipsitt (20th century)

I still need more healthy rest in order to work at my best. My health is the main capital I have and I want to administer it intelligently.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)
