Proposed Changes in DSM-5
One of the proposed changes in DSM-5 that is set to be released in May 2013 is to eliminate Asperger syndrome as a separate diagnosis, and fold it under autism spectrum disorders. Under the proposed changes, ASD will be rated on a scale ranging from severe, through moderate, to mild, based on clinical presentation.
