Histon F.C. - Reserves

Reserves

Histon's reserve team were unusual in that they played at a high level of the National League System, only four divisions below the 1st team. They joined the Eastern Counties League Division One in 2001 and achieved second place in 2002. They are currently members of the Eastern Counties League Premier Division, after escaping relegation at the end of the 2007–08 season by winning 7 of their final 8 games, finishing two points above relegated Swaffham Town. The side has been managed by former players Neil Kennedy and Ossie Mintus since May 2008 when they took over from Ian Hart. However, they withdrew from the league at the end of the 2010–11 season.

Famous quotes containing the word reserves:

While you are nurturing your newborn, you need someone to nurture you, whether it is with healthful drinks while you’re nursing, or with words of recognition and encouragement as you talk about your feelings. In this state of continual giving to your infant—whether it is nourishment or care or love—you are easily drained, and you need to be replenished from sources outside yourself so that you will have reserves to draw from.
    Sally Placksin (20th century)

...I want to see a film, they send the Israeli army reserves to escort me! What kind of life is this?
    Golda Meir (1898–1978)
