Hippo CMS - Open Source and Open Standards

Open Source and Open Standards

Hippo CMS is user friendly, has an open architecture and is designed for interoperability with existing environments. Hippo CMS is built to integrate external sources of content into one. Therefore, it uses all relevant open standards to allow this integration. For many existing sources, connectors are available in the codebase.

The open architecture of Hippo CMS has the following key points:

  • Faceted repository
  • Open source
  • Content repository API for Java, JSR-170
  • Works with open standards
  • Reuse of content
  • Separation of content, design, logic and the CMS itself.
  • User friendly user interface
  • Native XML, 100% Java
  • No vendor lock-in

Famous quotes containing the words open, source and/or standards:

It is open to question whether the highly individualized characters we find in Shakespeare are perhaps not detrimental to the dramatic effect. The human being disappears to the same degree as the individual emerges.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)

The practice of S/M is the creation of pleasure.... And that’s why S/M is really a subculture. It’s a process of invention. S/M is the use of a strategic relationship as a source of pleasure.
    Michel Foucault (1926–1984)

The standards of His Majesty’s taste made all those ladies who aspired to his favour, and who were near the Statutable size, strain and swell themselves, like the frogs in the fable, to rival and bulk and dignity of the ox. Some succeeded, and others burst.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
