High School Confidential (Jerry Lee Lewis Song)

High School Confidential (Jerry Lee Lewis Song)

"High School Confidential" is a song written by Jerry Lee Lewis and Ron Hargrave and released in 1958 as a single on Sun Records. The song was the title song of the movie of the same name starring Russ Tamblyn, Mamie Van Doren, and Jerry Lee Lewis. The track appeared on the 1984 Rhino Records collection 18 Original Sun Greatest Hits. On the 1958 Sun 45 single label, Jerry Lee Lewis's name was left off the songwriting credit, although the publishing data on the sheet music shows the songwriters as Jerry Lee Lewis and Ron Hargrave. The 45 release on London Records in the UK, 8780, listed the songwriters as "Hargrave, Lewis". The recording was reissued on the Sun Golden Treasure Series as Sun 28, Matrix # 7-118, and on the Collectables label, 213, as a 7-inch vinyl 45 single backed with "Great Balls of Fire".

Famous quotes containing the words high, school, confidential, lee and/or lewis:

There is only one vice, which may be found in life with as strong features, and as high a colouring as needs be employed by any satyrist or comic poet; and that is AVARICE.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

We are all adult learners. Most of us have learned a good deal more out of school than in it. We have learned from our families, our work, our friends. We have learned from problems resolved and tasks achieved but also from mistakes confronted and illusions unmasked. . . . Some of what we have learned is trivial: some has changed our lives forever.
    Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)

How it is I know not; but there is no place like a bed for confidential disclosures between friends. Man and wife, they say, there open the very bottom of their souls to each other; and some old couples often lie and chat over old times till nearly morning. Thus, then, in our hearts’ honeymoon, lay I and Queequeg—a cosy, loving pair.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

This is no Sir Galahad who lives from afar. This is a two- legged boa constrictor.
    —John Lee Mahin (1902–1984)

Men were only made into “men” with great difficulty even in primitive society: the male is not naturally “a man” any more than the woman. He has to be propped up into that position with some ingenuity, and is always likely to collapse.
    —Wyndham Lewis (1882–1957)
