High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton

High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton is a 1998 book by Ann Coulter, published by Regnery Publishing.

The book has sections on President Bill Clinton's alleged womanizing at government expense and his alleged lies (under oath) to cover this up. Coulter also covers some of the other controversies surrounding Bill Clinton's presidency, including Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Wampumgate, the China secrets scandal, and the death of Vincent Foster. In the last chapter, she reviews the history of the impeachment process and makes an emotional case for Clinton's impeachment.

The High Crimes and Misdemeanors book spent eight weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list, after release in August.

Famous quotes containing the words high, crimes, case, bill and/or clinton:

For thou, O Spring! canst renovate
All that high God did first create.
Be still his arm and architect,
    Rebuild the ruin, mend defect.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

We might make a public moan in the newspapers about the decay of conscience, but in private conversation, no matter what crimes a man may have committed or how cynically he may have debased his talent or his friends, variations on the answer “Yes, but I did it for the money” satisfy all but the most tiresome objections.
    Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)

True and false are attributes of speech not of things. And where speech is not, there is neither truth nor falsehood. Error there may be, as when we expect that which shall not be; or suspect what has not been: but in neither case can a man be charged with untruth.
    Thomas Hobbes (1588–1679)

A bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

I will get things done for America.... Faced with apathy, I will take action. Faced with conflict, I will seek common ground.... Faced with adversity, I will persevere. I will carry this commitment with me this year. I am an Americorps volunteer.
    —Bill Clinton (b. 1946)
