2008 Financial Crisis
In late 2008 and early 2009 the credit crunch caused worldwide concerns regarding the stability of banks. In the UK questions were asked about the stability of all banks and several were fully/partly nationalised (including Northern Rock, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group) or failed (including London Scottish Bank, Landsbanki and Kaupthing). ICICI Bank UK PLC was quick to confirm it had a strong liquidity and capital position.
