Henry S. Reuss - Life After Congress

Life After Congress

He was not a candidate for reelection to the Ninety-eighth Congress in 1982.

His name graces the Reuss Plaza Federal Office Building in Milwaukee, and the National Park Service's Henry Reuss Ice Age Center near Dundee, Wisconsin.

He donated to Senator Russ Feingold's and Paul Tsongas's campaigns in 1992. Mrs. Reuss was a bigger and more active donor to Democrats and related groups.

Famous quotes containing the words life and/or congress:

How many women ... waste life away the prey of discontent, who might have practised as physicians, regulated a farm, managed a shop, and stood erect, supported by their own industry, instead of hanging their heads surcharged with the dew of sensibility, that consumes the beauty to which it at first gave lustre ...
    Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797)

Our decision about energy will test the character of the American people and the ability of the President and the Congress to govern this nation. This difficult effort will be the “moral equivalent of war,” except that we will be uniting our efforts to build and not to destroy.
Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
