Sequel
On June 2, 2009, Entertainment Weekly reported that Ryder had claimed that there will be a sequel to Heathers with Christian Slater coming back "as a kind of Obi-Wan character". Michael Lehmann, the director of the original film, however, has denied that a sequel's development, saying "Winona's been talking about this for years — she brings it up every once in a while and Dan Waters and I will joke about it, but as far as I know there's no script and no plans to do the sequel."
