Heart Sounds - Recording Heart Sounds

Recording Heart Sounds

Using electronic stethoscopes, it is possible to record heart sounds via direct output to an external recording device, such as a laptop or MP3 recorder. The same connection can be used to listen to the previously-recorded auscultation through the stethoscope headphones, allowing for more detailed study of murmurs and other heart sounds, for general research as well as evaluation of a particular patient's condition.

Famous quotes containing the words recording, heart and/or sounds:

Too many photographers try too hard. They try to lift photography into the realm of Art, because they have an inferiority complex about their Craft. You and I would see more interesting photography if they would stop worrying, and instead, apply horse-sense to the problem of recording the look and feel of their own era.
    Jessie Tarbox Beals (1870–1942)

She saw the couches of the dead, and where the fibrous root
Of every heart on earth infixes deep its restless twists:
    William Blake (1757–1827)

    I that so long
    Was Nothing from Eternity,
Did little think such Joys as Ear and Tongue
    To celebrate or see:
Such Sounds to hear, such Hands to feel, such Feet,
Such Eyes and Objects, on the Ground to meet.
    Thomas Traherne (1636–1674)
