Heart-tongued Frogs (Phyllodytes) is a genus of frogs in the Hylidae family, found in eastern Brazil (the species Phytotriades (=Phyllodytes) auratus from the island of Trinidad was previously considered a member of this genus). These are small arboreal frogs which live and breed exclusively on epiphytic bromeliad plants. They have serrated teeth and sharp fangs on their jaws.

Famous quotes containing the word frogs:
“The standards of His Majestys taste made all those ladies who aspired to his favour, and who were near the Statutable size, strain and swell themselves, like the frogs in the fable, to rival and bulk and dignity of the ox. Some succeeded, and others burst.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
