Issues Affecting Intersex People

Including intersex under LGBT can be controversial, with some intersex people identifying with LGBT and some not; some argue I should be included as LGBTI. Intersex people may identify as heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or no such labels, and so experience some of the issues related to these groups; however, intersex people can also have a variety of health issues from birth onwards that are unique to intersex people. There are a range of ways people can be intersex, so between different types of intersex people there can be different health issues that relate to their situation. Famous quotes containing the words issues, affecting and/or people:

To make life more bearable and pleasant for everybody, choose the issues that are significant enough to fight over, and ignore or use distraction for those you can let slide that day. Picking your battles will eliminate a number of conflicts, and yet will still leave you feeling in control.
    Lawrence Balter (20th century)

I have an intense personal interest in making the use of American capital in the development of China an instrument for the promotion of the welfare of China, and an increase in her material prosperity without entanglements or creating embarrassment affecting the growth of her independent political power, and the preservation of her territorial integrity.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

In the brief moment of its freedom, the English people makes such a use of that freedom that it deserves to lose it.
    Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712–1778)
