Head Wound City is an American noisegrind supergroup consisting of Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato of The Blood Brothers, Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian, both from The Locust and Holy Molar. Their debut self-titled EP was released in 2005 on Three One G (both CD and limited 10" vinyl EP), and was written, recorded, and produced all in the time span of one week.
Their music is best described as rapid-fire bursts of noise and screams, or as vocalist Jordan Billie puts it, "It's kind of like if Alien and Predator started a band instead of fighting each other ." The songs are typically quite short in length, with the aforementioned EP running less than 10 minutes in seven songs . The lyrics stay as rough as the sound which patterned along with the mathcore and thrashcore result in unique wave of modern punk with similar sound and effect to all of Justin Pearson and Three One G Records projects.
While no plans have been formally discussed, members such as Pearson and Votolato have mentioned possibilities of Head Wound City getting back together. Personal differences amongst the former Blood Brothers members is said to be the reason holding them back.

Famous quotes containing the words head, wound and/or city:
“But it thought no bed too narrowit stood with lips askew
And shook its great head sadly like the abstract Jew.”
—Robert Penn Warren (19051989)
“The history of a soldiers wound beguiles the pain of it.”
—Laurence Sterne (17131768)
“A sturdy lad from New Hampshire or Vermont who in turn tries all the professions, who teams it, farms it, peddles, keeps a school, preaches, edits a newspaper, goes to Congress, buys a township, and so forth, in successive years, and always like a cat falls on his feet, is worth a hundred of these city dolls. He walks abreast with his days and feels no shame in not studying a profession, for he does not postpone his life, but lives already.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
