Hattori Nutrition College

Hattori Nutrition College (服部栄養専門学校, Hattori Eiyō Senmon Gakkō?) is a prominent cooking school in Yoyogi, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The current principal is Dr. Yukio Hattori, known for his role in the popular Japanese game show Iron Chef. Even before Iron Chef, Hattori Nutrition College was well known for its culinary arts programs. It is now a top choice for any aspiring culinarian in Japan, with an increasing world following as well.

Hattori Nutrition College offers certification courses and full degree programs in culinary arts and dietetics. In keeping with Japan’s forward-looking mentality, the coursework at Hattori is on the heels of the latest trends in cooking and the culinary arts. There is a particular emphasis on healthy, “body-friendly” culinary techniques.

In the Japanese TV show Iron Chef, Hattori Nutrition College provided students to assist the competing chefs in cooking duties. Dr. Hattori himself was the show's culinary commentator. Dr. Hattori also provided advice to contenders for the game show The Next Iron Chef when they were in Japan, where contenders competed to become one of the four Iron Chefs in the American spinoff on the Food Network.

Famous quotes containing the words nutrition and/or college:

Men have their own questions, and they differ from those of mothers. New mothers are more interested in nutrition and vulnerability to illness while fathers tend to ask about when they can take their babies out of the house or how much sleep babies really need.
    Kyle D. Pruett (20th century)

Here was a place where nothing was crystallized. There were no traditions, no customs, no college songs .... There were no rules and regulations. All would have to be thought of, planned, built up, created—what a magnificent opportunity!
    Mabel Smith Douglass (1877–1933)
