Famous quotes containing the words mountains, national and/or park:

Ellie: A soul is a very expensive thing to keep: much more so than a motor car. Shotover: Is it? How much does your soul eat? Ellie: Oh, a lot. It eats music and pictures and books and mountains and lakes and beautiful things to wear and nice people to be with.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

Let us waive that agitated national topic, as to whether such multitudes of foreign poor should be landed on our American shores; let us waive it, with the one only thought, that if they can get here, they have God’s right to come.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

The park is filled with night and fog,
The veils are drawn about the world,
    Sara Teasdale (1884–1933)
