Harrowgate Hill is an electoral ward and suburb in the borough of Darlington, England. It is situated north of Darlington town centre, and enclosed on two sides by railways — the East Coast Main Line to the east, and the Tees Valley Line to the west. The ward extends as far south as Thompson Street and as far north as Beaumont Hill.
Harrowgate Hill is one of the largest wards in Darlington with over 2,500 properties and more than 4,800 resident electors (that’s not including children and other unregistered voters).
Famous quotes containing the word hill:
“headland beyond stormy headland plunging like dolphins through the
gray sea-smoke
Into pale sea, look west at the hill of water: it is half the
planet: this dome, this half-globe, this bulging
Eyeball of water,”
—Robinson Jeffers (18871962)
