Hapur - Connections To Other Cities

Connections To Other Cities

Hapur is an ancient town which has been popular for its agricultural stocks. Similarly, Pilkhuwa is also a historic city and is popular for its cloth industry. After upgradation to 4 lane system of National Highway No. 24 which connects Delhi to Hapur the aforementioned Highway is being upgraded from Hapur to Moradabad and is proposed to upgrade this highway up to Lucknow.

Along with roadways, Hapur is also connected in all 4 directions through railways, e.g. along with Delhi Moradabad railway line, Hapur is also connected by rail with Meerut and Aligarh. In the light of this fact, there is a strong possibility of Hapur developing into potential growth centre in the NCR region.

The national capital region including Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar is all set for an expansion. Two new townships — Hapur and Garhmukteshwar will soon become part of this region. Garhmukteshwar, which is considered a good alternative to Hardwar as a centre of pilgrimage, is being promoted as a tourist spot. It will be handed over to the Hapur Pilkhuwa Development Authority (HPDA) for a planned development.

Famous quotes containing the words connections and/or cities:

Our business being to colonize the country, there was only one way to do it—by spreading over it all the associations and connections of family life.
    Henry Parkes (1815–1896)

... there is no way of measuring the damage to a society when a whole texture of humanity is kept from realizing its own power, when the woman architect who might have reinvented our cities sits barely literate in a semilegal sweatshop on the Texas- Mexican border, when women who should be founding colleges must work their entire lives as domestics ...
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
