Hans Steiner - Creative Writing

Creative Writing

After becoming Professor Emeritus, Dr. Steiner returned to creative writing, producing short stories, novel, and poems. He had been active in these endeavors up to his years in medical school, writing in German at the time. His current writings are in German and in English.

He organized a group of physicians at Stanford who also write creatively, named the Pegasus Physicians. The group meets monthly and discusses works in progress or in the planning stage.

"Diagnosing the human condition: Stanford medical students add art, music and literature to studies" article: http://news.stanford.edu/news/2012/july/humanities-medical-students-070212.html The Arts, Humanities & Medicine Program allows Stanford School of Medicine students to explore their artistic passions in conjunction with their medical studies.

Famous quotes containing the words creative and/or writing:

Of the creative spirits that flourished in Concord, Massachusetts, during the middle of the nineteenth century, it might be said that Hawthorne loved men but felt estranged from them, Emerson loved ideas even more than men, and Thoreau loved himself.
    Leon Edel (b. 1907)

Faithfulness to the past can be a kind of death above ground. Writing of the past is a resurrection; the past then lives in your words and you are free.
    Jessamyn West (1902–1984)
