Famous quotes containing the word influence:

The higher the state of civilization, the more completely do the actions of one member of the social body influence all the rest, and the less possible is it for any one man to do a wrong thing without interfering, more or less, with the freedom of all his fellow-citizens.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

The woman who can’t influence her husband to vote the way she wants ought to be ashamed of herself.
    —E.M. (Edward Morgan)

There is no evidence that there is something especially good about fathers as caretakers. There are no areas where it can be said that fathers must do certain things in order to achieve certain outcomes in children. The same goes for mothers.
    Michael Lamb (late–20th century)
