Reception
The film had expensive production costs but benefitted at the box office from Harrison Ford's post-Star Wars superstardom and despite a mixed reception from critics, the film was well received by audiences and has developed a following amongst movie fans and aviation enthusiasts due to the flying sequences combined with a moving love story and also for the pairing of Harrison Ford and Christopher Plummer.
