Hallett Motor Racing Circuit

Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a road course about 35 miles (56 km) west of Tulsa in Northeastern Oklahoma, USA. The track has 10 turns in 1.8 miles (2.9 km), and over 80 feet (24 m) of elevation change. The track can also be configured to run both clockwise and counter-clockwise, yielding two distinct race courses.

Hallett Motor Racing Circuit hosts their own Competition Motor Sports Association (COMMA) events, as well as Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) events and many other events for different brands and models of cars (Miata Clubs, Z-car Owners, BMWCCA, etc.). Motorcycles and high-speed go-karts also run at Hallett.

As well as sanctioned races, the track also hosts COMMA High Speed Touring dates where regular cars and sports cars can experience laps on the circuit under more controlled circumstances (e.g., overtaking on straightaways only). They also provide driver education classes and a full race instruction program.

Hallett was the host of the final Can Am race of the series' final season in 1986.

Famous quotes containing the words motor, racing and/or circuit:

    The motor idles.
    Over the immense upland
    the pulse of their blossoming
    thunders through us.
    Denise Levertov (b. 1923)

Upscale people are fixated with food simply because they are now able to eat so much of it without getting fat, and the reason they don’t get fat is that they maintain a profligate level of calorie expenditure. The very same people whose evenings begin with melted goat’s cheese ... get up at dawn to run, break for a mid-morning aerobics class, and watch the evening news while racing on a stationary bicycle.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)

We are all hostages, and we are all terrorists. This circuit has replaced that other one of masters and slaves, the dominating and the dominated, the exploiters and the exploited.... It is worse than the one it replaces, but at least it liberates us from liberal nostalgia and the ruses of history.
    Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
