Reception
Gutterballs received mixed to negative reviews. The film was criticized for what many felt were misogynistic and homophobic undertones. Audiences who enjoyed the film noted the nostalgic atmosphere, realistic gore effects and (before it was re-released by TLA Releasing the following year) soundtrack.
