There are five primary health centers(PHCs) in the mandal. 1.Darakonda 2.Sapparla 3. Gudem 4.Pedavalasa 5.Jerrila. There are Two Mobile medical units(MMUs)in the mandal. 1. R.V.Nagar 2. Pedavalasa Once upon a time, Thre was only one MMU RVNagar under PHC Downoor.Later, Darakonda became mother Primary health center divided into PHCs Gudem and Darakonda.10-bedded Government Hospital, RVNagar; Government dispensary, Pedavalasa; MMU pedavalasa; Subsidiary centre, Pedavalasa were other establishments in the mandal.In march, 2005, PHCs were reorganized creating PHC in Jerrila by shifting Govt.Hospital, RVNagar; merging Govt.dispensary,pedavalasa with SHC, Pedavalasa to create PHC, Pedavalasa;creating PHC Sapparla from part of PHC, Darakonda.
