Guanaco - Mating Season

Mating Season

Mating season occurs between November and February, during which males often fight violently to establish dominance and breeding rights.

Eleven months later, a single cria is born. Crias are able to walk immediately after birth. Male crias are chased off from the herd at approximately one year of age.

Famous quotes containing the words mating and/or season:

He’s one of those know-it-all types that, if you flatter the wig off him, he chatter like a goony bird at mating time.

Methoughts a legion of foul fiends
Environed me, and howled in mine ears
Such hideous cries that with the very noise
I trembling waked, and for a season after
Could not believe but that I was in hell,
Such terrible impression made my dream.
