Notable Graves
Among those buried here is Aubrey Cosens of the Queen's Own Rifles, who won the Victoria Cross leading an attack against Mooshof where he was killed by a sniper in February 1945.
Memorialized are Gustave Biéler, Frank Pickersgill, and Roméo Sabourin, Canadian members of the Special Operations Executive who were sent undercover into occupied France; all three were caught by the Germans and sent to concentration camps, where they were executed.

Famous quotes containing the words notable and/or graves:
“In one notable instance, where the United States Army and a hundred years of persuasion failed, a highway has succeeded. The Seminole Indians surrendered to the Tamiami Trail. From the Everglades the remnants of this race emerged, soon after the trail was built, to set up their palm-thatched villages along the road and to hoist tribal flags as a lure to passing motorists.”
—For the State of Florida, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“Trench stinks of shallow buried dead
Where Tom stands at the periscope,
Tired out. After nine months hes shed
All fear, all faith, all hate, all hope.”
—Robert Graves (18951985)
