Western Australian Raiders
The Western Australian Raiders is the representative team for Western Australia at National level. This also includes the Junior Raiders who are Western Australia's under—18 team.
The Western Australian Raiders were crowned National Champions in 2001 and have followed this result up with consistent performances finishing no lower than 3rd at National Championship Competition.
The Western Australian Junior Raiders placed 4th in their only campaign in 2007. The Raiders finished 3rd at NCC at the Gold Coast in 2009 and a very close 2nd place at the NCC at Narrabeen, Sydney in 2011.
In 2012 the Senior National Championship Competition was changed to the Australian Gridiron League (AGL) a bi-annual Home & Away series which the Raiders won convincingly 3-0 against Vic, Qld & NSW.
The Junior NCC remains unchanged and will be held in ACT in early 2013.

Famous quotes containing the words western, australian and/or raiders:
“We hold on to hopes for next year every year in western Dakota: hoping that droughts will end; hoping that our crops wont be hailed out in the few rainstorms that come; hoping that it wont be too windy on the day we harvest, blowing away five bushels an acre; hoping ... that if we get a fair crop, well be able to get a fair price for it. Sometimes survival is the only blessing that the terrifying angel of the Plains bestows.”
—Kathleen Norris (b. 1947)
“Each Australian is a Ulysses.”
—Christina Stead (19021983)
“This is our fate: eight hundred years disaster,
crazily tangled like the Book of Kells:
the dreams distortion and the lands division,
the midnight raiders and the prison cells.”
—John Hewitt (b. 1907)
