“It is well known, that the best productions of the best human intellects, are generally regarded by those intellects as mere immature freshman exercises, wholly worthless in themselves, except as initiatives for entering the great University of God after death.”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“To get a man soundly saved it is not enough to put on him a pair of new breeches, to give him regular work, or even to give him a University education. You must in some way or other graft upon the mans nature a new nature, which has in it the element of the Divine.”
—William Booth (18291912)
“Doesnt all experience crumble in the end to mere literary material?”
—Ellen Glasgow (18731945)
