Greenfield (Pittsburgh) - Points of Interest

Points of Interest

Greenfield contains two small business districts along Greenfield Avenue and Murray Avenue. As a predominantly residential neighborhood, Greenfield boasts three baseball fields, four basketball courts, two hockey courts, two soccer fields, and a swimming pool. It is also home to seven churches and one synagogue; the largest is St. Rosalia, a Roman Catholic church.

Similar to other Pittsburgh neighborhoods, Greenfield hosts a holiday parade and fireworks every December. The fireworks, which are usually sponsored by Zambelli Fireworks, are shot off from Magee Field.

Famous quotes containing the words points of, points and/or interest:

The dominant metaphor of conceptual relativism, that of differing points of view, seems to betray an underlying paradox. Different points of view make sense, but only if there is a common co-ordinate system on which to plot them; yet the existence of a common system belies the claim of dramatic incomparability.
    Donald Davidson (b. 1917)

We only part to meet again.
Change, as ye list, ye winds: my heart shall be
The faithful compass that still points to thee.
    John Gay (1685–1732)

As with our colleges, so with a hundred “modern improvements”; there is an illusion about them; there is not always a positive advance. The devil goes on exacting a compound interest to the last for his early share and numerous succeeding investments in them.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
