Green Gas - Propane Adapters

Propane Adapters

As most Airsoft players have noted that propane and silicone oil constitutes the majority of Green Gas propellant, manufacturers have produced adapters that attach to propane tanks that are available at many retail stores, usually including reservoirs to store lubricant (usually silicone oil). The propane option has become popular in that the solution is cheaper in the long run than Green Gas, as well as being more widely available compared to Green Gas. Experienced players have noted that with the propane option, however, lubrication quantities should be noted in different temperatures as decreased lubrication in propellant is detrimental to the internal mechanisms of gas Airsoft weapons. This can be remedied by manual lubrication of internal parts before use of the gun.

Although most players may give in to the high pricing of green gas and begin to use propane, it is worth noting that propane in its retail form is very bad to the internals of an Airsoft gun over time. Propane is highly corrosive to the guns, and after a certain number of months or certain number of shots, you may notice some parts that are heavily exposed to the gas in the gun have a brown hint to them. There is a reason most companies warranties are voided by using propane. If you have to use propane, keep a close eye on your gun and clean it thoroughly often.
