Habitat
Lagothrix cana or the gray woolly monkey predominately lives in cloud forest, a type of forest under cloud cover for most of the year. They can be found anywhere from 1,000 to 2,500 meters above sea level. The population of gray woolly monkeys in Bolivia have been reported to be found as low as 700 meters above sea level. They spend the majority of their time high in the tree tops in search of food. They move through the trees using their large prehensile tails, which is a common trait seen in the family Atelidae. They are capable of hanging from their tails and often use them to bridge gaps between trees when traveling in them.

Famous quotes containing the word habitat:
“Neither moral relations nor the moral law can swing in vacuo. Their only habitat can be a mind which feels them; and no world composed of merely physical facts can possibly be a world to which ethical propositions apply.”
—William James (18421910)
“Nature is the mother and the habitat of man, even if sometimes a stepmother and an unfriendly home.”
—John Dewey (18591952)
