GPRS Roaming Exchange - Development

Development

Initially GPRS roaming was based on complicated relationships between individual operators with each operator requiring a dedicated link to each different partner so that, whereby is the number of global operators that would require a dedicated link. This meant that mobile subscribers who wanted to use GPRS whilst roaming could only do so if their operator had a direct agreement with the operator in the country or area in which they were roaming.

In 2000 the GSMA (GSM Association) developed the idea of GRX to handle all roaming between public land mobile networks (PLMNs).

Famous quotes containing the word development:

... work is only part of a man’s life; play, family, church, individual and group contacts, educational opportunities, the intelligent exercise of citizenship, all play a part in a well-rounded life. Workers are men and women with potentialities for mental and spiritual development as well as for physical health. We are paying the price today of having too long sidestepped all that this means to the mental, moral, and spiritual health of our nation.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

The highest form of development is to govern one’s self.
    Zerelda G. Wallace (1817–1901)

    Sleep hath its own world,
And a wide realm of wild reality.
And dreams in their development have breath,
And tears, and tortures, and the touch of joy.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)
