Governor-general of Norway

The Governor-general of Norway, styled Rigsstatholder in Danish or RiksstÄthÄllare in Swedish, both meaning 'Lieutenant of the realm' (see Stadtholder), was the appointed head of the Norwegian Government in the absence of the Monarch.
