Observation Results
The first observations by the Spitzer Space Telescope were completed between September 21–27, 2006. The first region that has been surveyed is IC5146 (the Cocoon Nebula in Cygnus). The first details of the research were presented at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Seattle.
Based on these observations, the team of astronomers led by Dr. Robert Gutermuth, of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics reported the discovery of Serpens south, a cluster of 50 young stars in the Serpens constellation.
The research team also released a poster which covers the details of the research and the results presented at the AAS meeting.

Famous quotes containing the words observation and/or results:
“It is, in both cases, that a spiritual life has been imparted to nature; that the solid seeming block of matter has been pervaded and dissolved by a thought; that this feeble human being has penetrated the vast masses of nature with an informing soul, and recognised itself in their harmony, that is, seized their law. In physics, when this is attained, the memory disburthens itself of its cumbrous catalogues of particulars, and carries centuries of observation in a single formula.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Silence is to all creatures thus attacked the only means of salvation; it fatigues the Cossack charges of the envious, the enemys savage ruses; it results in a cruising and complete victory.”
—Honoré De Balzac (17991850)
