Goodrich's mascot is the voted on by students during the first year of classes. The name was selected to represent the variety of activities offered at Goodrich School. The student body also compared Belmont, a high place overlooking the city of Lincoln, to Mount Olympus. The Olympic Rings are the official symbol of the school.

Goodrich was named after Thomas V. Goodrich, a teacher and administrator for LPS from 1903 until 1947. Goodrich was remodeled in the year 2009-2010. While it was being remodeled the students from Goodrich went to Dawes Middle School. So it was called, Goodrich @ Dawes Middle School. Goodrich now has a new mascot, The Goodrich Dragons!

Famous quotes containing the words goodrich, middle and/or school:

What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down.
    —Frances Goodrich (1891–1984)

In the middle of the night, as indeed each time that we lay on the shore of a lake, we heard the voice of the loon, loud and distinct, from far over the lake. It is a very wild sound, quite in keeping with the place and the circumstances of the traveler, and very unlike the voice of a bird. I could lie awake for hours listening to it, it is so thrilling.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The difference between de jure and de facto segregation is the difference open, forthright bigotry and the shamefaced kind that works through unwritten agreements between real estate dealers, school officials, and local politicians.
    Shirley Chisholm (b. 1924)
