Agonists With Double and Single Substitutions
GnRH agonists are synthetically modeled after the natural GnRH decapeptide with specific amino acid substitutions typically in position 6 and 10. These substitutions inhibit rapid degradation. Agonists with 2 substitutions include:
- leuprolide (Lupron, Eligard)
- buserelin (Suprefact, Suprecor)
- nafarelin (Synarel) (only a single substitution at position 6)
- histrelin (Supprelin LA, Vantas)
- goserelin (Zoladex)
- deslorelin (Suprelorin, Ovuplant)
Triptorelin is an agonist with only a single substitution at position 6. In India,Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has launched recently Triptorelin under the brand name "Pamorelin LA".

Famous quotes containing the words double and/or single:
“The Cossack eats Poland,
Like stolen fruit;
Her last noble is ruined,
Her last poet mute:
Straight, into double band
The victors divide;
Half for freedom strike and stand;
The astonished Muse finds thousands at her side.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Many single parents say that they feel they have to be both a mother and a father to the child. This is impossible, so you may as well rule out that idea.... As a single parent, you cannot be both a man and a woman. Who you are is a parent.”
—Lawrence Balter (20th century)
