A golf ball retriever is used by golfers in order to retrieve their lost or misplaced balls. They allow one to retrieve balls from water hazards, deep rough or even the occasional sand trap, where they would not otherwise be able to reach them.
Golf ball retrievers use telescopic extensions to extend up to 4.5 meteres, enabling balls to be lifted from water using the swivelling cup at the end.
Famous quotes containing the words golf and/or ball:
“And the wind shall say Here were decent godless people;
Their only monument the asphalt road
And a thousand lost golf balls.”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
“I never knew anyone yet who got up at six who did anything more useful between that time and breakfast than banging a tennis ball up against the side of the house, waiting for the more civilized members of the party to get up.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
