Biodiesel Industry
In biodiesel industry, Golden Hope’s first biodiesel plant at Teluk Panglima Garang, Banting which is operated by its wholly owned subsidiary Rubiatec Sdn Bhd, has begun its maiden commercial production on June 24, 2006. Its second plant is located at East Estate, Carey Island has started operations in May 2007. This plant is a joint venture between Golden Hope and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board in which it uses MPOB’s technology. Golden Hope will build two other biodiesel plants, one in Bintulu, Sarawak and another at Unimills in The Netherlands. When all four plants are operational by early 2008, Golden Hope will be producing a total of 390,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year, all of which will be exported.
