Global Underground 033: Rio is a DJ mix album in the Global Underground series, compiled and mixed by DJ and producer duo Layo & Bushwacka!. This set is based on their recent performance in Rio De Janeiro. This is the first Global Underground mix for Layo & Bushwacka!, although they have appeared on other Global Underground compilations by other DJs. The first disc is older, classic electronic music whereas the second disc is more recent, forward-facing music.
Famous quotes containing the words global, underground and/or rio:
“As the global expansion of Indian and Chinese restaurants suggests, xenophobia is directed against foreign people, not foreign cultural imports.”
—Eric J. Hobsbawm (b. 1917)
“Or as, when an underground train, in the tube, stops too long between stations
And the conversation rises and slowly fades into silence
And you see behind every face the mental emptiness deepen
Leaving only the growing terror of nothing to think about....”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
“Americans living in Latin American countries are often more snobbish than the Latins themselves. The typical American has quite a bit of money by Latin American standards, and he rarely sees a countryman who doesnt. An American businessman who would think nothing of being seen in a sport shirt on the streets of his home town will be shocked and offended at a suggestion that he appear in Rio de Janeiro, for instance, in anything but a coat and tie.”
—Hunter S. Thompson (b. 1939)
